Vienna – Meetings and presentations on the implementation of the EU-Turkey Agreement
ESI's Gerald Knaus went to Vienna for several meetings and presentations on the refugee crisis.
On 22 September, he spoke at the annual meeting of the Austrian Federation of Austrian Industries where he joined panel on "Quo vadis, Europa!? Neustart oder Ende der europäischen Integration" ("Quo vadis, Europe? Restart or end of European integation"?) together with Ulrike Lunacek, Vice President of the European Parliament, Christoph Neumayer, General Secretary of the Austrian Federation of Austrian Industries, Peter Platzer, CEO Spire Global, Inc., and Doron Rabinovici, author and historian.
At 19:00 of the same day, he gave a public presentation about the EU-Turkey agreement on migration at an event organised by the Sektion Acht think tank. Please find more information on Sektion Acht's Facebook page.
At midnight of the same day, he was interviewed about the current state of the EU-Turkey agreement on migration on national Austrian TV: ORF, ZIB24, "Migrationsfachmann Knaus: 'Alle EU-Pläne gescheitert'" ("Migration expert Knaus: 'All EU plans have failed'")
On 24 September, he spoke at this year's Humanities Festival in a conversation with journalist Alexandra Föderl-Schmid on the refugee crisis: "Wie schaffen wir das?" ("How will we be able to do this?").
