ESI's Gerald Knaus was in Athens for a few days for a series of meetings with officials from UNHCR, the ministry of the interior and party officials to discuss migration and asylum procedures.

On 29 November, he gave a briefing at the Netherlands Embassy on refugees and asylum in the Aegean and the impact of the EU-Turkey statement.
