On 2 July 2012, Senior Analyst Alexandra Stiglmayer participated in a meeting of the Coalition for a Visa-Free Europe in Warsaw. This coalition, which is run by the Polish Stefan Batory Foundation, brings together over 40 NGOs and think-tanks mainly from the EU's Eastern Partner countries. The objective is to join forces and to contribute together to the abolishment of visa barriers between these countries and the Schengen zone. The coalition decided to open itself to members from Turkey and Kosovo, planned activities and campaigns, and renamed itself from "Coalition for an European Continent Undivided by Visa Barriers" to "Visa-Free Europe Coalition".
