ESI's Gerald Knaus was invited to give a presentation on new ideas and models for the protection of refugees in Europe at the Zurich Migration Conference. Afterwards, he participated in a panel discussion with Daniel Endres, former UNHCR director for Comprehensive Responses, and Philipp Aerni, Center for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at Zurich University.
While in Zurich, he gave an interview to Neue Zürcher Zeitung: "Weder offene Grenzen noch Stacheldraht" ("Neither open borders nor barbed wire") (11 September 2017)
The following day, Gerald met with representatives of the Swiss foreign ministry in Zurich to discuss migration and human rights policy. He then travelled to Geneva where he met with UNHCR representatives.
