Ohrid – ESI at the Prespa Forum Dialogue 2022
ESI’s Gerald Knaus was invited to moderate a panel on “Building A Resilient European Security Architecture Together” at the Prespa Forum Dialogue organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia.
In his role as moderator, Gerald spoke about the war in Ukraine and how the EU can react to achieve peace and shore up its defence in the face of a dramatically changed European security environment. He also spoke about the candidacy of Sweden and Finland for NATO membership and how the organisation should confront authoritarian states.
The panellists were Paul Gallagher (Holy See), Bisera Turković (MFA Bosnia and Herzegovina), Zbigniew Rau (MFA Poland), Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz (MFA Kosovo), Megi Fino (MFA Albania, Deputy Minister), Christopher Cutajar (Permanent Secretary, MFA Malta), Kornelios S. Korneliou (Permanent Secretary, MFA Cyprus) and Mircea Geoană, (NATO Deputy Secretary General).
