Budva – ESI presenting ideas on how to rethink EU enlargement

On 28 and 29 October ESI deputy chairman Kristof Bender attended the "Balkans Integration Forum 2016" organised in Budva, Montenegro, by the European Movement Montengro and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. The topic of this year's forum was "The Time of Crisis" and featured panels on the accession process after Brexit, the Berlin Process, the Western Balkans in a time of multiple European challenges and the situation in the Western Balkan countries.

Kristof spoke about how to rethink the EU accession process and to transform it into a stronger tool supporting reformers in the Western Balkans. Check our website for a paper on this topic to be published in the coming weeks.
