Vienna – ESI presentation for CARE Austria on empathy and factfulness and how to save the refugee convention

ESI’s Gerald Knaus was invited to give a presentation for CARE Austria on “Empathy and Factfulness” and how to save the refugee convention. He presented 10 concrete facts on irregular migration, asylum, pushbacks and borders, and debunked populist rhetoric on the threat of irregular migration. He also discussed the EU-Turkey Statement, private sponsorships of refugee resettlement as in Canada, and the importance of cooperation between countries of origin and countries of reception.
