ESI on Pluralist Media in Turkey at Lodz University

ESI analyst Ekrem Eddy Güzeldere gave a lecture at the conference "Race, Religion, Representation" at the University of Lodz on "Pluralist Media Representation in Turkey".

Ekrem examined the media organs of different ethnic and linguistic groups in the framework of further democratization and EU-membership negotiations. His major focus were the weekly AGOS, which managed to become not only an Armenian community paper, but a voice for liberal democratic forces of different backgrounds and the newly launched TRT 6 state TV channel in Kurdish, exploring the possibilities of TV in other languages than Turkish.
