Skopje – ESI moderating panel on minorities and majorities in SEE
Kristof Bender participated in the 2nd Skopje Debate on Europe which took place from 17 to 19 November 2023 in Skopje, North Macedonia. The event was organised by the S. Fischer Foundation and the German Academy for Language and Literature in co-operation with Kontrapunkt from Skopje.
Debates on Europe is a series of events hosted since 2012 in places where the idea of Europe is at stake, organised by the S. Fischer Foundation and the German Academy for Language and Literature in co-operation with local partners, in this case Kontrapunkt from Skopje.
Kristof moderated a panel on "Might and Rights. The Role of Minorities and Majorities in Southeast Europe”, featuring speakers from Bulgaria, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia: Manol Peykov (publisher and Bulgarian MP), Robert Alagjozovski (national co-ordinator for interculturalism of the Government of North Macedonia), Linda Gusia (sociology department head at Pristina University), and Gorana Pebic (researcher at the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy). Other panels focused on Kosovo as a geopolitical token and literature in times of conflict.
