Rome – ESI lecture on the Western Balkans at the NATO Defence College

ESI’s Gerald Knaus was invited to give a lecture on the Western Balkans at the NATO Defence College. In his analysis, Gerald spoke about historical and contemporary security challenges and opportunities in the region. He also focused on potential future geopolitical trends that may impact the area.

Moreover, he provided an overview of NATO’s and the European Union’s policies in the region, reflecting on potential future roles for these organisations and what can be further done.

Finally, Gerald presented ESI’s work and proposals advocating for the region’s integration into the EU’s single market and its four freedoms.
