Berlin – ESI at debate on the rule of law: “Does Poland have a point?”
8 November 2021
ESI’s Gerald Knaus was invited to participate in an online debate on the “Rule of law: Does Poland have a point?” organised by the European Council on Foreign Relations.
In his statement Gerald warned of the danger of Poland potentially becoming an authoritarian state within the EU and of having a minister of justice in an EU member state controlling every court in his country.
Gerald debated with Stefan Auer, Jean Monnet Chair and Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong. The panel was moderated by Jana Puglierin, head of ECFR’s Berlin office and senior policy fellow.
