ESI in Baku to observe the presidential elections

ESI Analyst Arzu Geybullayeva was in Baku to monitor Azerbaijan's presidential elections, which took place on October 15th. She was joined by another international observer, Eric Herron who is an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas. Together they visited a number of polling stations in the capital.

In addition, Arzu met with Leyla Aliyeva, director of the think tank 'Center for National and International Studies', Khadija Ismayilova, chief of Bureau at Radio Azadliq (Azerbaijan branch of Radio Free Europe), Kamilla Dadasheva, director of 'Symmetry' NGO who have run several projects on Domestic Violence in Azerbaijan.

She also met with Venja Bentsen Kleven from the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, who was there with her colleagues as electoral observers to discuss ESI's research in the country.
