ESI's Gerald Knaus was invited to participate in the Delphi Economic Forum where he spoke at the Panel on "Migration: Facing the crisis and managing the EU response". Other speakers on the panel were Philippe Leclerc, Representative in Greece, UNHCR, Werner Patzelt, Founding Professor, Chair for Political Systems and System Comparison; Dresden Institute for Political Science, and Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, Minister of Shipping, Maritime Affairs and the Aegean, Hellenic Republic (2013-2015); Head of the Migration Policy Sector, New Democracy. The panel was moderated by Susanna Vogt, Head of Greece Office, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

The migration crisis has sparkled off an uncoordinated response in an already politically tense European Union. Although many fear that it is a matter of time until the EU-Turkey agreement fails, Member States do not agree on a common line. On top of that policy makers need to work on integration strategies.
