Thijmen Koomen (the Netherlands) joined ESI as a junior fellow in November 2023. He is currently completing a master's degree in philosophy and economics at the University of Vienna, for which he has also spent an Erasmus semester at the University of Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne). Previously, he has finished bachelor's degrees in philosophy and history at the University of Amsterdam. His research interests include global security, EU integration, the single market and European history. He speaks Dutch, English, German and French.
