Johanna Caminati Engström (former staff)
Johanna Caminati Engström (Sweden/Italy) joined ESI as a Junior Fellow in February 2021. She's currently also working as a Policy and Advocacy assistant at Plan International's EU Office. Her interests revolve around development cooperation, EU affairs and human rights. Johanna holds a Master’s Degree in International Development and Management from Lund University in Sweden and has a B.A. in Human Rights with additional insights from Middle Eastern, African and gender studies. Among her previous work experience, Johanna pursued an internship at the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul, working with Turkish-Swedish development cooperation, in particular human rights promotion and civil society support. She has also worked as a programme support intern with the Ghanaian NGO COLANDEF in Accra, focusing on customary land rights and natural resource management. She conducted her MSc thesis research in the northern part of the country.
