Anna Strumpel (former staff)
Anna Strumpel (Germany) holds a Bachelor's degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge. She focused on International Relations and the Politics of the Middle East, writing her BA thesis on the ongoing civil war in Yemen, and the role of Iran through the lens of U. S. and Saudi domestic policy. Currently, she is also working as an Intern at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC. Prior to starting as a Junior Fellow with ESI, she volunteered with an NGO in Ethiopia and worked for Global Witness on a project studying current political trends in Austria and Germany. She attended a summer school at PKU (Beijing University) to learn about current economic developments in China and has interned on a project with the EBRD in Cairo during her undergraduate degree.
