Loccum – ESI takes part in a workshop on the Western Balkans
From 22 to 24 November 2024, ESI senior analyst Adnan Cerimagic participated in a workshop titled “New Wind in Europe’s Western Balkan Policy? Shaping the Meantime to Accession by Regional Initiatives,” organised by the Protestant Academy Loccum.
Adnan delivered the keynote address in the session “Mapping the EU Policy Landscape in the Western Balkans – What is New, What is Specific, Where are Overlaps?” He presented ESI’s latest research, highlighting its proposal for single market integration as a practical interim step towards EU membership.
The workshop gathered policymakers and diplomats from EU member states, alongside academics and think-tank experts from the EU and the Balkans, fostering dialogue on innovative approaches to advancing the region’s European integration.
