ESI’s Kristof Bender participated in the Europe’s Futures alumni conference organised in Vienna from 2 to 4 December 2024 by the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) and ERSTE Foundation. Debates focused on the implications of the next Trump presidency, Europe and the war in Ukraine, EU enlargement and the establishment of a “Europe’s Futures Institute” in 2025. All sessions can be accessed at the IWM’s YouTube channel.
Europe’s Futures is a joint programme by the IWM and ERSTE Foundation, supporting its fellows and alumni to do in-depth research leading to policy proposals, publications or direct action on topics of interest such as the deterioration of the rule of law and democracy in the EU and its periphery, challenges in managing migration and asylum and the unfinished enlargement of the EU.
