ESI senior analyst Adnan Cerimagic spoke at a panel titled “Rule of Law and Civic Space in the EU.” The event was hosted by the Hertie School as part of a study visit to Berlin for Europe’s Futures fellows, a joint programme of the Erste Foundation and the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM), both based in Vienna. The event brought together civil society leaders and experts to discuss how to protect democracy and the rule of law in the EU and candidate countries.
Adnan pointed to examples from ESI’s research to show how a more honest and consistent EU strategy could help drive rule of law and democratic change.
