Berlin – ESI discusses EU enlargement under the Merz government

ESI senior analyst Adnan Ćerimagić participated in the “Balkan Breakfast” at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) in Berlin. The event, titled “EU Enlargement and the Merz Government”, gathered policymakers, diplomats, and experts from Berlin and beyond for an off-the-record exchange on the future of EU enlargement policy.
Adnan shared ESI’s latest analysis on the challenges and opportunities for EU enlargement under the new German government. He addressed the role Germany can play in reinvigorating the process, particularly in the Western Balkans, by promoting credible reforms, rule of law, and democratic standards.
