Berlin – ESI contributes to EU accession working group

ESI senior analyst Adnan Cerimagic participated in the working group meeting “Geopolitics and its impact on the Western Balkans and EU enlargement” hosted by the Aspen Institute Germany in Berlin. The event brought together civil society representatives, policy analysts, and government officials to discuss the role of civil society in EU enlargement processes and the future of EU integration in the Western Balkans.
Adnan contributed to discussions on lessons from the current EU enlargement methodology and on how EU could have a more impactful role in accession-related reforms. Drawing on ESI’s research and policy recommendations, he emphasised the need for a more credible and transparent EU approach to support the region.
The working group is supported by the German Foreign Office and forms part of a broader initiative to foster policy dialogue between Brussels, Berlin, and Western Balkan stakeholders. ESI is proud to support these efforts.
