Dubrovnik – ESI at European Strategy Forum

Kristof Bender, ESI's deputy chairman, attended an off-the-record seminar on "Migration Policy and Security in the Mediterranean" organised by the European Strategy Forum from 7 to 9 June 2018 in Dubrovnik. He presented ESI's latest ideas for EU asylum policy, in particular for the central and eastern Mediterranean.

Among the 20 participants were Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen, Secretary General of the Council, Lars Danielsson and Kim Jorgensen, the Premanent Representatives of Sweden and Denmark to the EU, Faruk Kaymakci, Turkey's Ambassador to the EU, Simon Mordue, Deputy Director General at DG Home, Birgitte Markussen, Deputy Managing Deirector of the Afrika Department at the EEAS, Marit Maij, Special Envoy on Migration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, and Spyridon Voulgaris, Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of MIgration Policy of Greece.
