Kranjska Gora – ESI works with young leaders on the future of Bosnia

Adnan Ćerimagić, ESI senior analyst, took part in the first ENTER: CHANGE Forum, “BiH’s Visionary Voices – Leading the Change”, in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. The programme brought together young leaders from Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss leadership, democratic governance and the country’s future.

Adnan led two workshops under the title “Building the Future We Want”. Participants were asked to look beyond Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 2026 elections towards 2030 and consider what decisions, compromises and forms of political leadership would be needed to build a more resilient and inclusive country. Discussions focused on political parties and governance, cooperation in an environment shaped by disinformation, corruption and the rule of law, and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s EU accession in a changing global context.

On 30 August, Adnan also led a session entitled “From Inheritance to Agency: History, Responsibility and the Choices Ahead”, as part of a joint programme with the Young Bled Strategic Forum.

Throughout the Forum, participants worked with Adnan on four thematic areas, developing their own ideas and recommendations for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s future. These were presented at the closing session, turning discussions about the country’s challenges into concrete proposals by a new generation of Bosnian leaders.
