Yerevan – ESI on a study visit to Armenia

ESI’s Gerald Knaus travelled to Yerevan, Armenia for a study visit organized by Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB).
Armenia stands at a critical geopolitical crossroads, navigating an increasingly complex security landscape while striving to uphold and advance its democratic trajectory in a region of increasing authoritarianism.
On the study visit, Gerald received an in-depth, first hand perspective on the region’s dynamics through direct engagement with key stakeholders and affected populations. Gerald and his fellow participants met with the relevant government officials, policy experts, academic scholars, civil society representatives, and media professionals to gain a better understanding of the security threats Armenia faces and the democratic resilience it continues to demonstrate.
